Privacy Policy

Firayla is in closed beta. The product is under active development, data models may change, and we may need to reset data during this period. Please don't store anything in Firayla you couldn't bear to lose. Questions? Email privacy@firayla.app.

This policy explains what Firayla ("we", "us") collects, why, and what choices you have. It covers the Firayla web app used during the beta.

Information we collect

Account details — your email address and password (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider, Supabase; we never see them in plain text).
Profile information — your name, username, avatar, bio, interests, languages, and home country, as you choose to provide them.
Content you create — events you host or RSVP to, messages you send, check-ins, and reports you submit.
Location — when you use location-based check-in or the distance filter, your device shares its coordinates at that moment to verify proximity. We do not track your location in the background.
Usage & device data — basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) used to operate the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors.

How we use it

To provide core features: accounts, events, friends, messaging, and check-ins.
To send you notifications you've opted into (email and/or web push).
To keep the service safe — rate limiting, abuse prevention, and reviewing reports.
To fix bugs and improve the product during the beta.

How it's shared

We don't sell your personal data. Your profile and the events you make public are visible to other signed-in Firayla users by design. We use a small number of service providers to run Firayla:

Supabase — database, authentication, and storage.
Vercel — application hosting.
Resend — transactional and notification email (only if you enable email notifications).

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Your choices

Edit or remove most profile information at any time in your profile.
Mute or delete conversations, and block other users, from within the app.
Control notification channels in Settings.
Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing privacy@firayla.app.

Data retention & security

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Access is protected by row-level security so users can only read and write data they're authorized to. No system is perfectly secure, and during beta you use Firayla at your own risk.

Changes

We may update this policy as Firayla evolves. Material changes will be surfaced in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
